New GIBS article: Expanding understanding of family social capital in crowdfunding of migrant entrepreneurial ventures by Adele Berndt and Nadia Arshad
Entrepreneurship, including migrant entrepreneurship, is critical for economic development in society (Kloosterman and Rath, 2002). This is due to entrepreneurial activity, such as the provision of goods and services and the employment offered by these ventures. One category of entrepreneurs that can be identified are migrant entrepreneurs who are described as individuals who have moved to a new country and started a business (Bizri, 2017; Aaltonen and Akola, 2012). The increased movement of people into Europe highlights the need to understand the importance of migrant entrepreneurship and how it can be used in society to the benefit of all.
